How the four scanners differ
The key dividing line is not simply “OBD2 compatible.” Standard emissions-related OBD-II access covers powertrain fault codes, supported live parameters, freeze-frame snapshots and I/M readiness. ABS, airbags, transmission, service resets and active/bidirectional tests are different capabilities that require explicit model and vehicle coverage. Innova’s 5610 documentation describes all-system diagnostics, maintenance functions and bidirectional controls, but individual functions vary by vehicle. Its coverage checker should decide whether those features apply to your car.
OBDLink’s MX+ documentation and OBDLink app page establish the mobile workflow and standard OBD-II functions. OBDLink’s enhanced-diagnostics support guide says ABS/SRS and other OEM modules depend on coverage for the specific vehicle; an unsupported make is limited to standard OBD-II access. We do not treat MX+ as a universal bidirectional scanner.
Autel’s AL319 specifications emphasize engine/PCM codes, live data, freeze frame and one-click I/M readiness. Its “manufacturer-specific” codes are powertrain-code coverage, not proof of ABS/SRS or service functions. ANCEL’s AD310 page documents the same core engine/emissions tasks in a basic, OBD-port-powered handheld and lists vehicle exceptions.
